These pages were specifically created to allow students of the botanical courses I taught at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman, to see some of the plants I have shown or mentioned – many of them occurring in Oman – during the lectures. The (vain?) hope is that these pages will encourage some students to learn something about the natural heritage of their own country. Although I have now left SQU, I have kept these pages going and will occasionally update them to help students in the future.

Please note that the images shown on these pages are not listed in the species tables for the moment.

Plants of the following families will be covered:

Asteraceae

Brassicaceae

Capparaceae - page under construction

Chenopodiaceae

Convolvulaceae

Cucurbitaceae

Euphorbiaceae

Fabaceae (including Caesalpiniaceae, Mimosaceae)

Poaceae

Zygophyllaceae

Many other species are shown on the main "Arabian Plants" pages.
